EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TEMENOS RETREAT CENTER,  WEST CHESTER, PA.


The Temenos Retreat Center, a non-profit, hospitality ministry of the Swedenborgian Church at Temenos, is looking for a General Manger. The duties include meeting budget and optimizing use of the facility. Someone able to promote the use of the facility is highly desired. Web design experience a plus. Candidate must be able to care for the operation of the center on a daily basis, including scheduling meetings, meeting and guest room readiness, food preparation, and see to guest satisfaction. CONFERENCE CENTER DIRECTOR, NATIONAL CHAVEZ CENTER, KEANE, CA 
 

SUMMARY

The Conference Center Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall operation of the National Chavez Center (NCC) in Keene, CA and its staff, as well as the promotion and outreach for NCC.
 

RESPONSIBLILITIES:

  • Directs and supervises all NCC staff, including employee development and training, performance management, and policy enforcement.
  • Develops an effective business plans for NCC.
  • Responsible for fulfilling the mission of the organization while maintaining it’s financial sustainability.
  • Oversees all aspects of conferencing and special events at NCC, including sales, marketing, catering, grounds, security, and maintenance.
  • Manages and monitors the finances and budget for NCC operations.
  • Develops and implements a marketing and outreach plan for NCC.
  • Maintains client relations, including addressing clients complaints within scope of authority.
  • Coordinates exhibits, cultural and community events, and trainings.
  • Provides a high degree of visibility to diverse communities by representing the NCC at the local, regional, state, national, and international level.
  • Develops and strengthens partnerships with relevant groups to further the visibility of NCC.
  • Develops and carries out NCC strategic and operational plans.
  • Manages and participates in project fundraising and audience development programs.
  • Maintains and develops knowledge of best practices within all areas of responsibility.
  • Oversees the maintenance, upkeep, and landscaping of NCC.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Position requires a bachelor’s degree  from accredited university or college with an emphasis in hospitality, food and beverage, business administration or related field.  Five years experience in conference services or related position with three years supervisory/management experience.

Camp Brotherhood is seeking an executive director with a commitment to the inter-faith mission of Camp Brotherhood and has the passion, experience and capacity to strategically lead the organization. 

Camp Brotherhood’s Treacy & Levine Family Village is a 200 acre retreat facility for people from different faiths, ethnic and racial background. Born through the vision of Rabbi Raphael Levine and Father William Treacy as an outgrowth of the award winning television program, “Challenge,” and with the support of friends, the Levine and Treacy Family Village at Camp Brotherhood was founded to provide a beautiful setting in which to foster interfaith dialog.

The Camp, located in Mt. Vernon in the beautiful Skagit Valley

Reporting to the Board the executive director will direct an experienced and able staff as well as the development and implementation of all initiatives, camp operations, external relationships, fund raising efforts, program development and financial/administrative functions to accomplish Camp Brotherhood
’s mission. He/She will have the presence, credibility, and energy to promote the mission of the Camp, and to have strong management, networking and communication skills

Management Experience Desired:

Seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated leader with a record of achievement to direct, oversee, and expand the operation of the Villa Maria Catholic Life Center, a 44 bed retreat and conference center situated on Lake Springfield.  Responsibilities include all business and financial operations, marketing of the retreat and conference center, scheduling of the conference center, supervision of staff, and oversight of hospitality services.
